CHEF WYL LIMA UNVEILS “ATELIÊ” — A CULINARY WORKSHOP, ART SPACE & SOULFUL DINING CONCEPT IN DALLAS’ BISHOP ARTS

Chef Wyl Lima introduces his most personal and ambitious project yet: Ateliê by The EXPERIENCE.

More than a restaurant, Ateliê is a living, breathing workshop — a rustic yet refined café-bistro that captures the spirit of culinary creativity and cultural storytelling. Drawing from his experience as Chef De Cuisine at Michelin-starred Temporis in Chicago, shaping the culinary identity at Sister (named one of The New York Times' Top 50 Restaurants), and currently serving as Culinary Director at The Charlotte American Bistro, Chef Wyl now brings his vision home.

“Ateliê,” meaning “workshop” in Portuguese, is where Chef Wyl unleashes his artistry. The bistro features a tightly curated 12-item globally inspired menu — where every dish is both a story and a statement.

Adjacent to the main dining room lies the heart of the experience: an intimate, appointment-only, 18-seat private tasting room — offering just 72 exclusive seats per week. Guests are taken on a seven-course culinary journey that transcends the plate, blending memory, flavor, and emotion into a deeply immersive dining experience. Ateliê expands beyond food:
In partnership with Daisha Board Gallery, Ateliê doubles as a satellite contemporary art space — a sanctuary where visual art and culinary expression ignite in tandem. Every artwork is hand-selected by acclaimed curator Daisha Board, whose exhibitions are known for their raw authenticity, cultural gravity, and bold commitment to underrepresented voices. Far beyond decoration, each piece is curated to amplify your sensory experience — echoing the emotion on the plate and provoking dialogue at the table. From sculpture and mixed media to performance and digital installations, the art transforms with the seasons, ensuring that no visit to Ateliê is ever the same. Together, Chef Wyl and Daisha Board create a world where every detail has intention, every corner hums with meaning, and every guest becomes part of the evolving narrative.

“This isn’t just a restaurant,” says Chef Wyl. “It’s my return to the roots. A space for artists to create, for stories to be shared, and for guests to taste what passion and perseverance really mean.”

Ateliê is a community-powered dream — not built by a hospitality empire, but by the hands of family, friends, and trusted allies. Inspired by Chef Wyl’s mother, Matilde, and his business partner Vivaldo’s mother, Celeste — two visionary Angolan immigrant women who taught them the value of grit and grace — the concept is a heartfelt tribute to resilience, craftsmanship, and legacy.

Whether you're a foodie, a collector, or a curious soul drawn to creation — Ateliê invites you to join our community.
