Join us for an unforgettable evening of love and connection at Diasporic Lover 2.

For one night only, Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2026, we gather to celebrate the beauty of diasporic bonds and shared heritage, seamlessly weaving together culture, community, and a deep appreciation for the ties that connect us all.

Curated by alaase, in collaboration with Diaspora Chicago and Idyl Drive, and hosted by +friendsofjonbasil, Diasporic Lover 2 invites guests on a sensory journey through food, music, space, and culture. The evening unfolds as an intimate, thoughtfully designed experience that bridges cultural memory with modern elegance.

At the heart of the night is a carefully crafted four-course menu by Chef Rob of Diaspora Chicago, reimagining flavors and traditions from across the African diaspora. Each course tells a story of love in its many forms, from passion and intimacy to community and connection, reminding us that love, like culture, is something we carry, share, and pass on.
