Every great story has a starting point—How It Started, NYC’s freshest event series, is where yours unfolds. We’re setting the scene with an underground but elevated edge at Music For A While, an oasis of music in the heart of Chelsea.

Brooklyn’s own Jeff Sorkowitz will be bringing a high-energy blend of dubby and clubby sounds that captivate audiences worldwide. Drawing inspiration from dark Romanian minimal grooves and infusing it with his New York urban style has positioned Jeff as a standout emerging act in today’s dance scene. Jeff has been featured in Beatport’s Top 10 Minimal & Tech House charts with many of his productions earning repeated support from notable international acts such as Michael Bibi, Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Loco Dice, and Sosa, as well as mainstream attention from John Summit, Gorgon City, Mau P, and Gorde. He continues to spread his sound on major stages at Factory Town Miami, Elrow, Lost Beach, Elsewhere, and the Brooklyn Mirage, while supporting icons like Jamie Jones, Hot Since 82, Vintage Culture, Pawsa, Joshwa, and Sidney Charles.

Supporting Jeff, MYKE, Gabi & Emi, Topher, and OCHO will be keeping the dancefloor packed with a carefully crafted mix of tech house, house, minimal, and electronic sounds.

Whether you’re that “borderline too sweaty” person on the dancefloor, cozying up in a booth, or clutching your craft cocktail like it’s your soulmate, How It Started is where it all begins.

Please join us, FREE with RSVP. Make sure to make yourself known (or be forgotten) as there will be limited space.

Your night, your move.
