Contributing Indigenous Artists: Euclides Ruiz Lopez (artist signs his works as Euclydelperu) is a native of Puerto Belen in the District of Ipania, Peru. An indigenous Shipibo artisan, Euclides works primarily on canvas to express his visionary journeys with themes of tribal customs enriched through ayahuasca and its sacred teachings. Since childhood, the artist has been immersed in the study and practical use of medicinal plants, learning from and experiencing many profound ceremonies guided by his parents and grandparents alike. This lifetime of exploration has enabled Euclides the visionary talent to guide us on this inner journey to other realms. His works are vignettes of these moments in time.

About the Indigenous Arts Gallery:

El Cocodrilo Negro is more than a gallery; it's a sanctuary of sacred art, dedicated to the ancient mission of healing through the sacred medicine of the Amazon rainforest. We are further committed to respect and celebrate indigenous artists, their communities, and cultural heritage while preserving traditional medicines and rituals. We take pride in curating the finest art and exclusively practicing fair trade, ensuring the well-being of tribal communities.

Our artists are deeply rooted in their indigenous heritage, possessing a unique connection with the natural world and the spirits that inhabit it. This connection is beautifully reflected in their art, inspired by the rainforest spirits and translating sung prayers into intricate visual patterns.
