Red Carpet Night kicks is our opening celebration and day 1 of Road To The Oscars, an initiative dedicated to empowering filmmakers and shining the spotlight on their masterpieces 🎥

Through our partnership with DCTV's Firehouse Cinema all selected film projects shown as a part of Road To The Oscars will recieve AMPAS accrediation for the 98th Academy Awards (in other words, the Oscars!) following a 7-day film run at the cinema.

Red Carpet Night features film showings, live music & entertainment (featuring Migs 718, Colarte, and The Show Love Collective Band), Oscar-winning filmmaker talk led by Academy Award-winner Molly O'Brien, filmmaker Q&As, exclusive BTS interviews, and as always, good vibes, food, and drinks ✨

Here are your Road To The Oscars filmmakers showcased this year:

Teddy by Lauren Santucci | A verité portrait of a male birth doula working to improve birth outcomes for Black women in Houston, Texas.
Exodus by Nimco Sheikhaden | An intimate portrait of two women who face unique challenges following decades of incarceration. The film bears witness to their impassioned attempts to rebuild their lives and ultimately restore their humanity.
Hiraeth by Kunga Choephel | Teenage Kunga uses his camera to intimately document his return to a now distant homeland with his father. While reconnecting with their elders, they are forced to reconcile with their idea of home and the people left behind in their absence.
Once Upon a Wetland by Elizabeth Miller-Derstine | As restrictions to drag grow stricter across the country, Durham, North Carolina lets its fur down for the annual Beaver Queen Pageant — a wildly campy, dam-important celebration of queer joy, eco-love, and over-the-top critter cosplay.
Expression of Illness by Bryn Silverman | After a routine follow up appointment, Bryn learns her thyroid cancer treatment isn’t over. What begins as a solo investigation into the thoroughness of her healthcare, evolves into a larger re-imagining of the metrics we use to measure our well-being and the importance of community in healing.

This production is brought to you by organizations championing creativity in our communities, including Vouch, DCTV, Filmshop, Rickshaw Film Foundation, Brown Girls Doc Mafia (BGDM), Filmshop, Video Consortium and Stellar Connect.

Disclaimer: RSVP'ing to Red Carpet Night does not automatically guarantee a viewing slot for the film run. If you're interested in securing tickets for the showings please reserve a seat via the link here. Feel free to reach out to support@vouch-app.com with any further questions!
