Prizer Arts & Letters, in collaboration with Armadillo World HQ and Arts+Labor, presents a one-night-only retrospective celebrating the life, music, and artwork of the late Gary Floyd. Most often recognized as a punk rock pioneer and trailblazing queer icon, Floyd is just as well-known as painter, poet, even blues musician - with a profound, lasting impact on music, art, and cultural inclusivity.

On the walls of Pershing Hall, artist and filmmaker Bill Daniel will curate an exhibition of Gary Floyd’s art, with paintings and collages for sale, off-the-wall. There will be additional Gary artworks for sale including collages, zines, ephemera, 1980s Texas punk darkroom photographs by Bill Daniel, and a free broadside publication by Prizer Arts & Letters.

Arts+Labor will screen How We Found Our Sound: The Dicks, and a panel discussion will follow to discuss Gary, his art, our city’s entropic culture, and the groundbreaking inclusion that took place at the Armadillo World HQ. With live sets by Jefferson Trout, Pocket FishRmen, and others.
