We're taking over the Founders' Room at the Folger Shakespeare Library on Capitol Hill for a private evening tea.

The Founders' Room is where the Folger runs its own Afternoon Tea, and historically it's where Mrs. Folger entertained visitors to the library. It's not a restaurant and it's not open to the public — for one night it's twenty seats at a single long table.

The Folger's kitchen is building us three courses of traditional high tea bites, served alongside a selection of teas to choose from. Everything is coordinated. You show up, sit down, and we handle the rest.

Like every Dinner Table, this one is built for people arriving on their own. You'll switch seats between courses, so you'll have real conversations with a handful of people over the course of the night rather than talking to the same two the whole time. Most people come solo. That's the point.

Twenty seats. Free to attend, thanks to our friends at Posh — but RSVPs are reviewed and confirmed, so tell us a bit about yourself when you register.

FAQs

What is the general age range of your events?
- We encourage guests from all ages and backgrounds to attend our events. Our programming is tailored to anyone looking to meet others.
- Generally, we've seen the age range of our events to be between 25-40 years old. That's not to say anyone outside of that range can't attend!
What's the difference between General Admission tickets and Men & Women tickets?
- Any ticket purchase gets the same experience, there is no difference.
- We've created gendered tickets to ensure a relatively even distribution of guests at our events. GA is open to anyone.
Can I come alone?
- Yes, we encourage it! Our goal at The Dinner Table is to create meaningful connections through cuisine and art. Many of our guests leave with new friends at the end of the event.
What is your refund policy?
- We understand sometimes things come up, and that's why we offer a full credit to your next event if you cancel ten days before the event
