Garden Grown is a strategic agency and creative practice built around a simple belief: social is bigger than what we post.

Our POV has been shaped by working alongside teams on global campaigns for brands like DoorDash, Champion, Thompson Hotels and CultureCon Collective, where the work asks us to think beyond content and into the ideas, people, culture, and systems that make something resonate.

The Social Essence is an extension of that practice. It’s our ongoing exploration of what it means to create meaningful work, build sustainable creative practices, and make space for the conversations that help ideas grow.

For this gathering, we’re bringing that perspective into conversation with collaborators who each approach storytelling through a different medium.

Austin Scott of The Scottie Diaries is a photographer and creative director whose practice explores the relationship between art, image, and creative expression. Together, we’ll explore The Hard Work photoshoot (see our Instagram) in its entirety, going beyond the finished images to unpack the creative direction, collaboration, and actual work that went into bringing the shoot to life.

Fred Brandstrader of A New Variety, is a visual and sonic artist whose work helped us translate our POV into motion for the campaign. His practice gives us another way to think about how sound, image, and atmosphere can shape the way a story is experienced.

Han Teverbaugh of Better in Print is a visual artist and writer with a natural ability to find and tell the stories inside of a moment. As our moderator, Han will help guide the conversation and create room for these perspectives to intersect.

Together, we’ll explore the relationship between art and content, creativity and commerce, and making work versus constantly producing. We’ll talk about what meaningful engagement can look like beyond metrics, how we resist the pressure to create from comparison, and what it means to build a creative practice around the life we actually want to live.

Because sometimes the next idea doesn't need more content, but time, conversation, perspective, and space to grow.

Come spend some time with us at Overflow Coffee as we continue cultivating The Social Essence.
