POSH - Event Organizer Messaging and SMS Guidelines
Last updated: June 20, 2025
These Event Organizer Messaging and SMS Guidelines (“Guidelines”) describe rules that apply to your use of the text and SMS messaging services made available on Posh’s platform, including any messages sent through the Marketing SMS Blast, SMS Campaign, and Event Alert features (collectively, the “Messaging Service”). These Guidelines are incorporated by reference into the Event Organizer Agreement. Violations of these Guidelines may result in Posh limiting, suspending, or terminating your Posh account and/or ability to access and use the Messaging Service.
Posh may update or modify these Guidelines at any time, and such updates and modifications will be effective immediately upon posting. It is your responsibility to review these Guidelines and understand the currently applicable rules.
Definitions
Please note the following definitions of key terms used throughout these Guidelines:
Marketing messages – include all messages sent for the purpose of encouraging an individual to purchase goods or services, sign up for events, or otherwise promote or advertise a product, service, brand, company, or event, whether in whole or in part.
Informational messages – include messages updating a Subscriber about an event they’ve registered for, such as reminders that the event is approaching, changes to the event location, or notifications that the event was canceled or rescheduled. Informational messages include the pre-templated messages sent through Posh’s Event Alert feature. Informational messages do not include any messages sent for the purpose of encouraging an individual to purchase goods or services, sign up for events, or otherwise promote or advertise a product, service, brand, company, or event.
Subscribers – mean any individual who you select to receive communications through the Messaging Service, including persons who are registered or previously registered to attend one of your events. For the purposes of these Guidelines, the terms Subscriber and “message recipient” are used interchangeably.
Consent & Opt-Outs
Consent
You may only send marketing messages to Subscribers who have consented to receiving marketing messages through Posh’s consent flow. Subscribers who have consented to receive marketing messages through Posh’s consent flow will have a text bubble icon with a checkmark beside their name in the Messaging Service interface.
Honoring Opt-Outs
Subscribers may revoke consent to receiving marketing messages (e.g., “opt-out”) using any reasonable method, which includes oral or written communications. If you receive a Subscriber’s request to opt out—or a request to modify a Subscriber’s phone number or change another messaging preference—you must notify Posh immediately and refrain from sending further communications to that Subscriber. Additionally, if Posh sends you a request from a Subscriber, you must respond to Posh immediately and act in accordance with Posh’s instructions.
Messaging Quiet Hours and Frequency Limitations
Quiet hours are specific times during the day when you are not allowed to send messages to your Subscribers using the Messaging Service (e.g., early in the morning, late at night, when they are sleeping, etc.). In addition to a bad customer experience, messages sent during these hours often lead to higher unsubscribe rates and a greater likelihood of Subscriber complaints and spam reporting.
Quiet Hours for Messages
You may only send messages to Subscribers during the hours of 9 am to 8 pm in the message recipient’s local time zone. If the message relates to a specific event, please use the time zone of the location where the event is taking place.
Message Frequency Limitations
You may not send more than 3 messages to Subscribers about a specific event or the same subject matter within a 24-hour period.
Messaging Content
Content We Do Not Allow
You may not use the Messaging Service to send any content that is illegal, harmful, unwanted, inappropriate, objectionable, or otherwise poses a threat to the public. Other prohibited uses of the Messaging Service include:
Messaging Conduct
Identifying Yourself as Sender
Every message you send through the Messaging Service must clearly and accurately identify you as the message sender. If you are a business or enterprise customer, you must use the name of your business or brand.
No Service Integrity Violations
You may not use the Messaging Service in any manner that could violate the integrity of the Messaging Service, including:
Violations of these Guidelines
In accordance with the Event Organizer Agreement, violations of these Guidelines may result in Posh limiting, suspending, or terminating your Posh account and/or ability to access and use the Messaging Service.
